COPE stands for Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies. This is a city-wide program in Santa Rosa whose purpose is to organize neighborhoods to deal with earthquakes and other disasters.
When the big one hits emergency crews and hospitals will be swamped, and roads may be impassable. We could be on our own for days or even weeks – so organizing at the neighborhood level is essential.
The first step in organizing was to divide Lomita Heights into manageable areas, which we call “sectors.” Each sector has a leader or leaders.
If you are a resident of the Lomita Heights area, we encourage you to do the following:
- Fill out a COPE Census Form. Cope Neighborhood Team Census Form
- Contact the leader for your sector.
- Review the information on What to Do after an earthquake.
You may want to print some of the information on this site, since Internet access may not be available after a disaster.
